Robert is a leading figure in civil engineering with over 30 years of project experience, including 20 years of experience in construction programming, design and estimating. In an impressive career, Robert has advised on more than 500 road and bridge projects in Australia and overseas.

A Chartered Professional Engineer and Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia, Robert established MIEngineers more than 25 years ago, and since then has built a business and personal reputation that are both highly regarded by industry peers and clients around the world.

A seasoned entrepreneur and industry first mover, Robert is also founder and director of Benchmark Estimating Software (civil estimating software), Roadworks Estimator (parametric modelling), and Roadwork Strategic Manager which is used by public and private sector organisations in Australia and overseas. Robert actively contributes to professional cost estimating dialogues and presents regularly on cost estimating and risk issues in Australia and overseas to Road Authorities and industry forums.

As the firm's CFO, Lynda ensures our pursuit of creative and innovative solutions always have a solid commercial grounding.

Andrew Garlick

Chief Engineer and Practice Leader Programming

Andrew is a senior professional engineer who has built a 25-year career in civil and structural construction in Australia and overseas. In the leadership role of Chief Engineer, Andrew’s dual focus is to work directly with clients on engineering projects and provide professional engineering support and advice across the business. 

A Chartered Professional Engineer with multiple post-graduate qualifications, Andrew brings extensive experience in project management, building and engineering contract management, tender and contract documentation, construction programming and cost estimating. He has advised many large public and private sector clients on tender and contract administration, written numerous engineering contracts, and won the Phillips Fox Prize for his Guaranteed Maximum Price Contract.

Andrew is widely published in professional journals, lectures to Masters level in Construction Planning/Project Management, and is a frequent presenter at industry workshops on contract law, claims estimating and risk.

Craig Davey

Cost Engineering Group Manager and Practice Leader Risk

Craig leads our Cost Engineering Division and Risk Practice, bringing to the role extensive project experience on roads, rail, ports, bridges and tunnels– ranging from local infrastructure to some of Australia and New Zealand’s largest projects.

Craig’s risk expertise includes assessment, analysis and management. He also facilitates risk workshops and conducts training sessions, and is an accomplished estimator from parametric through to first principles estimates. In addition, he has prepared contract documents for many infrastructure projects.

Craig is Bachelor of Science Industrial Chemistry (Hons), Diploma of Project Management qualified, and a Member of the Australian Cost Engineering Society.

National Business Development Manager, Design and Project Management Group Manager and Practice Leader Design

Graham has over 35 years’ experience with a number of reputable consulting engineering practices, holding positions as regional manager, senior project manager and director.

Graham is our National Business Development Manager, with a focus on business development, client relationship management and project management across the Australian market.

As a result of Graham’s technical and leadership skills, he also took on the role of Design and Project Management Group Manager, overseeing MIEngineers’ comprehensive range of Civil and Structural Engineering Services by managing client relationships and ensuring all projects undertaken are delivered practicably, to budget and on time. 

Mike Freeman

Mike Freeman

Associate, Senior Engineer and Practice Leader Contracts and Constructability

Mike is a Senior Engineer with in excess of 20 years’ extensive experience in the provision of estimating, constructability and commercial services for both industry and government clients, in particular major clients such as Roads and Maritime Services NSW, SA Department of Transport, Energy & Infrastructure, Queensland Transport & Main Roads, Main Roads WA, NZ Transport Agency, and the UK’s Highways Agency.

Mike’s role showcases his expertise in the field of contract management and administration, with experience that includes the preparation/review of contract documentation for numerous RMS and Council projects. He has also prepared variation claims for contractors and assessed claims on behalf of RMS for road and bridge projects.

Mike is Bachelor of Engineering (Civil), Diploma of Project Management qualified, and maintains professional affiliations with the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineers and the Australian Cost Engineering Society.

Alex Jugueta

Associate, Senior Estimator

Alex is a Senior Estimator with in excess of 30 years’ combined experience in the spheres of Civil and Structural Engineering, holding a Bachelor’s degree in both.

Alex’s fields of expertise include estimating, tender management, and project and contract management in the areas of civil, remedial and building works. He also boasts extensive experience in the implementation and development of Quality System audits, preparing work method statements and construction programmes, and evaluating progress claims and variations.

Alex has recently joined MIEngineers after 17 years in Senior Estimating and Project Management roles with Freyssinet Australia, a leading provider of specialist technology and infrastructure in bridge post-tensioning, civil engineering, remediation, upgrade and rehabilitation works.

Malcolm Windley

Malcolm Windley

Associate, Senior Engineer

With over 30 years’ experience in the design and construction industry, Mal brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to major infrastructure projects.

Since joining MIEngineers, Mal has managed the design and construction of road infrastructure projects in Australia and overseas and has successfully undertaken numerous earthworks/materials management projects, providing advice on the constructability, construction methodology and staging of works. This experience has led to Mal developing leading capabilities in constructability assessments, earthworks management, construction staging and programming.

Mal has also acquired extensive experience in constructability assessments on RMS projects and is a key member of the MIEngineers team on the RMS Constructability Advice and Assessment Services Panel.

Strategic Relationship Manager

As our Strategic Relationship Manager with accountability across the business, Amy-Ruth is responsible for cultivating and developing strong and positive relationships with MIEngineers’ clients.

Amy-Ruth has been in the industry for over 10 years and brings an entrepreneurial flair to the role. Previously having opened our UK office in 2005 and successfully building the business through great relationships with our clients.

She prides herself on her ability to foster collaborative relationships and is never happier than when our clients are delighted with the work done for them by MIEngineers. Amy-Ruth is open and friendly and loves speaking with our clients about how we can best serve them with our skilled teams and multi-disciplinary offerings.
