Ports

Ports

Australia’s ports and associated infrastructure are of utmost importance to Australia's economy and defence. Ports face major challenges from growth in trade. Improvements to ports and related road and rail links can remove barriers and transaction costs to trade, increase competition and contestability, and provide important links to domestic and global value chains.

MIEngineers has advised on numerous port upgrade projects over the past 10 years, resulting in a practical understanding of the complexities of port construction works, including upgrades of existing buildings, services and road/rail connections with minimum disruption to the day to day running of the port, the materials handling systems and facilities. We have advised on the construction of large international ports in Australia, including pier construction, dredging works, reclamation works and stability of sea walls.

Our project experience includes cost engineering services to port projects such as the Townsville Docks and a large, modern marina and jetty in Western Australia.
